The cast of Dunes 2, realized by Denis Villeneuve and carried by Timothée Chalamet, continues to grow with the arrival of a very popular French actress.
If the first Dunes skimmed its cast well, the continuation of the adaptation directed by Denis Villeneuve will see the return of several actors and actresses to give the reply to Timothée Chalamet, in particular Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem and Stellan Skarsgård, who already form a fine array of talent. The continuation of the initiatory quest of Paul Atreides will however go hand in hand with the extension of the universe and therefore the introduction of famous new characters and faces.
Austin Butler, who is currently swaying in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, will play Feyd-Rautha, nephew of Baron Harkonnen and brother of Glossu Rabban played by Dave Bautista. He will be joined by another rising actress, Florence Pugh (Midsommar, Black Widow), who will lend her features to Princess Irulan, one of the five daughters of Emperor Shaddam IV who will be played by the great Christopher Walken.
More recently, Deadline revealed that the Frenchwoman Léa Seydoux had also joined the starred cast. She should thus play Dame Margot, another member of the Bene Gesserit and a precious ally of the Atreides in their war against House Harkonnen. If the character did not appear in the first part – contrary to Frank Herbert’s story which brings him in quite early – he should have a major role to play in the second, which should also involve her husband, Count Fenring, whose interpreter has not yet been announced.
