Zapping World Eleven EXCLUDED: Karim Benzema’s “Little Brother” interview!
It’s a victory that should blow Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Paris Saint-Germain. As in the first instance, the boss of the capital club was acquitted by the prosecution in the corruption case for obtaining the TV rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups from BeIn Media Group. Swiss justice has decided and the leader is getting away with it without conviction. This was already the case in October 2020 during the first instance.
“Today’s verdict is totally justified. After a relentless six-year campaign by the prosecution – which each time ignored fundamental facts and the law – our client has, once again, been fully and completely cleared. The years of baseless allegations, fictitious accusations and relentless slander have been proven to be completely and utterly unfounded – twice,” his lawyer, Maître Bonnant, explained in remarks reported by RMC Sports.
Jérôme Valcke condemned
However, the sanction was not the same for the two other defendants, Jérôme Valcke (former FIFA number 2), who received an 11-month suspended prison sentence and a fine. As a reminder, justice suspected Valcke of having received benefits from Nasser for the allocation of the rights of the Worlds to beIN: between 1.4 million and 2.3 million euros, i.e. “the exclusive use of Villa Bianca” from March 2014 to September 2015, as well as a reimbursement of 500,000 euros after payment of a deposit for the villa in question, as the radio stated. Nasser will be able to breathe, PSG and beIN too.
The president of Paris Saint-Germain has been acquitted in the case of the awarding of TV rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cup for beIN Media Group. Jérôme Valcke, for his part, was sentenced by the Swiss courts.
