In an interview with BFM TV conducted in New York, where he signed a partnership with the NBA which will work with his new production company Zebra Valley, PSG striker Kylian Mbappé spoke about his ambitions with the club of the capital city. The 23-year-old, who extended his contract at the end of May until 2025 with the Parisian club, reaffirmed his desire to win the Champions League, “a clear and announced objective”. “There is a way and I think it goes through re-establishing unanimity at the national level, we haven’t done it for the past two years”recognized the 2018 world champion.
Mbappé also returned to the statements of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi who estimated at the start of the week that winning the Champions League would go through a “less bling-bling” PSG: “I understand the club’s message, it’s the message that was sent to me too […] It’s really the will of the club, I’m just getting into this project, I was not at the base of the project. With all the changes that are going to happen, great things are going to happen.”
Mbappé, on the other hand, brushed aside the idea that he had made demands on the internal functioning of the team, to extend his contract: “The club comes first […] it’s not my project […] There will be a PSG before me and after me, I just want to bring my stone to the building”.
