Kim Andersen: “The big goal is to win at least one stage”
In the mountains and on the hilly stages, the American team will count on the Dutchman Bauke MollemaItalian Giulio CicconeLatvian Toms Skujins and French Tony Gallopinwhich will find the Round after missing the 2020 and 2021 editions. No Big loop on the other hand for the two other Tricolores of the Trek-Segafredoto know Julian Bernard and Kenny Elisson. “The big goal is to win at least one stage”says the sports director Kim Anderson.
“However, with the squad we have, I think we can do even more than that.”he adds. “It’s a clear objective for the team and for Mads (Pedersen) to shine during the stages in Denmark. First, he will try to do a great time trial in Copenhagen, then we could try to grab a few bonus seconds if the yellow jersey is within reach. With Mads and Jasper (Stuyven), we have two good assets for the 5th stage, that of the cobblestones. Then, we will try to be in all the breakaways, and we will we have smart runners for this and who know how to win in this way”concludes the Dane.
