CDC | The list of clubs with Wild Card are known

Valero RIVERA (HBC Nantes)

Meeting this morning in the executive committee, the EHF unveiled at the end of the morning the list of clubs having obtained their wild card to be able to participate in the 2022/2023 edition of the Champions League. Good news for French clubs with the presence of HBC Nantes and Brest Bretagne.

We now know the full competition table for the women’s and men’s champions league. Following the various files submitted by the clubs, the EHF on the basis of various criteria (hall, media coverage, marketing, etc.) established the list of clubs selected to join the champion clubs of the various participating championships. Among the boys, the HBC Nantes file was retained like that of Brest Bretagne among the girls. We will therefore have 2 representatives in the men’s champions league, Paris and Nantes, and also two in the girls’ league with Metz and Brest. The EHF also recalled that the Ukrainian club Motor Zaporozhye was unable to participate in the Champions League given the situation in Ukraine and the many uncertainties around the club. The club will evolve next season in the German second division and will participate in the group stage of the European league.

The draw for both competitions will take place on July 1 at 11 a.m.
