The Prix de l’Opéra, quinté this Wednesday, in Enghien, over 2,150m, flying start, will pit older trotters for the most part well known in tournaments of this kind. Starting with our favorite ESPERANZO (photo), which has just proved its good form at Vincennes, on a speed course.

2 ESPERANZO : This resident of the Mottier family has always had means. This is evidenced by his 5th place obtained in the Critérium des 4-ans (Gr.I), in 2018. He now shines in fifths, counting one victory and four places in nine attempts. Recent 2nd at Vincennes, it looks formidable.

8 FAWLEY BUISSONAY : If he is still looking for a first victory at the fifth level, he totals no less than eight places in nine performances. Moreover, after a series of places of honour, it returned to victory last month at Lignières. Already seen to its advantage on this track and on this layout, it will have logical takers.

11 FARRELL SEVEN : He no longer has to prove himself in such a company, posting five victories in nine quintés disputed. On the other hand, his only outing on this course was crowned with success, in October. After a training course, railed, at the beginning of the month, in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, he is here able to make people talk about him again.

4 EASTWOOD PARK : This son of Village Mystic has two wins and as many places in five straight races. In addition, his success last month, in Avignon, attests to his current good physical condition. With seven podiums, including four victories, in ten outings on this track, his luck is obvious…

12 STAR OF QUESNY : This mare trained by Clément Thomain won a quinté, this winter, at the end of November in Vincennes, before being kept out of competition from December 2021 to May 2022. She now has two courses in her legs. Therefore, it is necessary to start monitoring it closely… Distrust.

10 EL SANTO HAUFOR : He proved that he had to be reckoned with in tournaments of this ilk, posting a victory and three places in nine straight races. Even if it has been discreet during its most recent outings, and even if it discovers the track at Enghien, it would not surprise anyone to talk about it again in this field.

3 MESLOIS FORUM : True, it remains on unsuccessful outings. However, it is the silveriest of the race and it had provided a pleasant end to the race to rank third in the fifth Prix de Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, in March on the track that interests us. It would therefore be imprudent to condemn it hastily.

9 DIVINE OF NAVARY : It seems here barred for the victory. That said, in eleven outings at this Enghien racecourse, she recorded six podiums, including two victories. Even if it will have to compete here with its cadets, which complicates its task, it would not surprise by coming to spice up the reports of the quinté.
