Stallone as a superhero turned garbage collector, it’s in the Samaritan trailer! – Cinema news

In a month, Prime Video subscribers will be able to discover Sylvester Stallone as an ex-superhero turned garbage collector in “Samaritan”, whose trailer has just been unveiled.

After playing Captain Ravager Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and King Shark in The Suicide Squad, Sylvester Stallone returns to the superhero genre but this time with an original film not adapted from comics in which he plays the main role: Samaritan .

In this film by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun, Overlord), the legendary Rocky actor plays a legendary superhero who has not given a sign of life for 25 years, now living in seclusion and working as a garbage collector.

But the day he saves his young neighbor played by Javon Walton (Euphoria, Umbrella Academy) from a gang of bullies, he recognizes him and makes it his mission to get him out of hiding while a wave of crimes descends on their hometown, Granite City.

In the first explosive images unveiled by Amazon, the hero demonstrates his superhuman strength on several occasions as well as his ability to regenerate. His alter ego, the famous Samaritan, is also unveiled in a costume that is reminiscent of that of Black Noir, one of the protagonists of the series The Boys.

Pulled out of retirement

Armed with a mass that seems to be his favorite accessory, the aging superhero will be forced to return to service to protect his new friend but also face a new enemy, played by Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones), Danish actor subscriber antagonistic roles.

Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Moises Arias, Jared Odrick, Michael Aaron Milligan and Sophia Tatum complete the cast of Samaritan, which will land on Prime Video on August 26.
