NBA: Huge announcement on the future of LeBron James
While LeBron James has one year left on his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, he will be eligible for a contract extension in a few days. But King James is not certain to extend his tenure in the California franchise and is awaiting answers on his team’s ambitions for the coming season.
Will we soon witness the end of the adventure of LeBron James to Los Angeles Lakers ? After a disappointing season, at the end of which the Californian franchise finished in 11th place in the Western Conference, the former player of the Cleveland Cavaliers might want to slam the door. Yet the Lakers were hopeful last year, after successfully attracting Russell Westbrook from Washington. But things didn’t go as planned.
Irving and Durant, linked destinies
For a few weeks, a departure from the former leader ofOKAY is mentioned. An eventuality which gained momentum after the announcement that Kyrie Irving decided to leave the Brooklyn Nets. Even if the latter has since changed his mind and would be ready to continue with the New York franchise, a trade is not to be excluded. Indeed, his future would be linked to that of Kevin Durant, who also let the net that he intended to leave this summer. ” If Kevin Durant leaves, I don’t see how the Nets are going to keep Kyrie Irving. If they can find a trade for KD, it will only increase their desire to send Kyrie elsewhere. “confided a few days ago Mark Steinone of the many insiders of the NBA.
“If [Kevin] Durant goes, I don’t see any way that the Nets just keep Kyrie [Irving]. I think if they can find a Durant trade, they will aggressively ramp up their desire to move Kyrie elsewhere.”@TheSteinLine to @KeithSmithNBA on Kyrie Irving trade rumors on @SpotifyLive pic.twitter.com/BtFduEhjfH

James and Irving together?
The possibility of an exchange between Irving and Westbrook therefore gained momentum, a possibility that LeBron James would look favorably upon. Indeed, the two men know each other well since they won the title with Cleveland in 2016. If Irving then decided to emancipate from King James and joined the Boston Celtics, he would not be against the idea of reuniting with his former teammate. This case could also be decisive for the future of the 37-year-old winger. Because the latter is getting closer and closer to the end of his career and has no more time to lose. He wants to be on a team that can compete for the title, whether it’s Lakers or elsewhere.

“LeBron doesn’t believe this team can claim the title”
LeBron James will be out of contract next year and has the option of extending his lease in a few days, on August 4, with a salary of €96m over two years. But not sure he decides to continue the adventure in California. Reported by Parlons Basket, Shannon Sharpeanalyst on Fox Sportshas explained : ” When you have LeBron James, you know what the stakes are. He’s like, “Listen, you’ve already wasted one of my years, you’ve wasted one. I gave you extra time because when I signed here, I didn’t say you had to make another move. I played with what we had. You haven’t done anything. I think he won’t sign the contract until he believes Rob Pelinka, when he believes the Lakers have done their job and done everything they can to make this team a contender for the NBA title. I think deep down LeBron doesn’t believe this team can claim the league title in its current configuration.. »
