Kyrie Irving’s huge tune-up
With Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving animates the offseason in the NBA. The rear would have asked for his Brooklyn Nets trade to leave for the Los Angeles Lakers, before finally changing his mind. If Irving’s near future remains very undecided, the former Boston Celtics player already knows what he wants for his future…
The Brooklyn Nets certainly did not expect to experience such a hectic summer. Their two superstar Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving reportedly asked to leave the franchise this summer. Both arrived in 2019 from New York, they wanted to form a super team capable of quickly winning titles. In 2021, they were even joined by the star of Houston Rockets and former MVP James Harden ! But in the end, the project net is a monumental fiasco. brooklyn failed to even reach a conference final and was badly swept 4-0 by the Boston Celtics in the last playoffs. In addition to that, James Harden left only a year after his arrival to join the Philadelphia Sixers. These repeated failures would therefore have motivated Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving change of scenery this summer.

Irving wanted to leave…before changing his mind
From then on, the two superstars of Brooklyn Nets are found every day in all the trade rumors. On his side, Kyrie Irving was therefore quickly linked to a departure for the Los Angeles Lakers. The player wanted to find LeBron James that he rubbed shoulders with Cleveland Cavaliers and the California franchise was keen to get it back in a trade. An exchange with Russell Westbrook is even often mentioned. Only, Kyrie Irving would have turned around and would now like to stay brooklyn. “Kyrie Irving definitely wants to play next season as Brooklyn Net. In his mind, he’ll be playing next year with Brooklyn, whether Kevin Durant is there or not.”said the well-informed Shams Charaniajournalist for The Athletic. A sudden change of mind that may not be enough. Indeed, if Kevin Durant had just left (a trade to the Boston Celtics has been coming back with insistence lately), then the Brooklyn Nets would also separate from number 11. “If Kevin Durant leaves, I don’t see how the Nets are going to keep Kyrie Irving. If they can find a trade for KD, it will only increase their desire to send Kyrie elsewhere” revealed Mark Stein at Clutch Points. The fate of the two players would therefore be linked.
Irving is already looking forward to the end of his NBA career…
Whether Kyrie Irving has not spoken on all these rumors regarding his near future in NBA, Uncle Drew look further and expressed himself on Twitter on the end of his career: “I don’t need to throw flowers at myself, ever. I’m about to start my 12th season in the best league in the world, and I’m only getting better. When I’m 38 and when I have time to really look back on my career, I will, but before that, I’m enjoying every moment.”.
…but not in basketball!
So, in eight years, Kyrie Irving would hang up. We will then retain his title of champion NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, the only title in their history, and of course the fact that it is certainly the best ball-handler in the history of the NBA. But not so fast! Whether Irving is considering retiring from the NBAhe does not want to say goodbye to basketball, however: “And no, I’m not going to stop playing basketball at 38 lol, I’ll play in leagues all over the world and I’ll teach young people everything I’ve been taught”. Let the fans be reassured, Kyrie Irving is not ready to leave the world of basketball!
