Russell Westbrook has found a new agent

The announcement of the end of the collaboration between Russell Westbrook and his historical agent Thad Foucher, of the Wasserman agency had caused a stir after 14 years of a cordial agreement. Two weeks later, the Lakers point guard found a new strong man to manage his career, with a reputation at least as important.

This is Jeff Schwartz, president and founder of the Excel Sports Management agency, created in 2002.

Before that, he had made a name for himself in the world of tennis, notably managing the careers of monuments like Pete Sampras or Martina Hingis.

The Excel Sports Management agency has a host of stars such as double regular season MVP Nikola Jokic and Brandon Ingram. In the past, Jeff Schwartz has notably worked with Paul Pierce or Jason Kidd.

It remains to be seen what strategy the player and his new agent will choose for the rest of the career of the 33-year-old leader, Thad Foucher having decided to end his collaboration with Russell Westbrook following “irreconcilable differences” explaining, in essence, to be opposed to a new transfer of the player.

“The best option for Westbrook is to stay with the Lakers, take advantage of this starting role and the support that Darvin Ham has publicly expressed” he had thus written, in an unusual public divorce.
