SNCB successfully tests a new merchandising collection – Companies

SNCB stations are now available on t-shirts, sweatshirts and other banana or sports bags. This new merchandising line was launched discreetly but all the products are already “sold out”.

If the idea is not new and that several brands and stores (Lidl, etc.) have already tried to decline their logo on various textile goodies, sold to their fans, with more or less success (or not), few have enjoyed such enthusiasm.

Indeed, the 1er August, SNCB launched a new line of merchandising in an almost confidential manner, via social networks. This was only available online and on the TrainWorld website. We did write “was” and aficionados of trains and stations will have to wait more or less because this new range of goodies has sold like hot cakes and is now “out of stock”… SNCB, coup test requires, had planned only 100 of each, as Le Soir specifies in its pages.

It must be said that the concept is nice and has something to seduce those “nostalgic” for Belgian stations and trains of yesteryear. The site offered to personalize the desired t-shirt or bag with the name of a station (choice among 550 possibilities). A While the banana bags are labeled “fully #upcycled”! and even if it means recycling, SNCB had the good idea of using the old coverings of its train seats, which makes each bag… a unique piece.

Less original, bob hats and socks, more simply adorned with the acronym B, have also sold like hot cakes.

According to Dimitri Temmerman, spokesperson for the SNCB, who explained to Het Nieuwsblad that it was a test but that “an evaluation will follow after the summer holidays”. For those who would like to jump on the bandwagon, they will have to arm themselves with a little patience and hope that the restocking will not be too late.
