The Kings are looking for Sam Merrill

The Kings have completed their training camp roster by registering the arrival of Sam Merrill, we learned Yahoo Sports.

Picked 60th in the 2020 Draft, the shooting guard played 30 games with the Bucks during his rookie season before being traded to the Grizzlies in the trade involving Grayson Allen, playing a total of 6 NBA games and 7 with the Memphis Hustle, in the G-League, before being cut on January 1.

In Sacramento, he will find Deividas Dulkys, Hustle’s assistant coach last season and promoted to assistant in Mike Brown’s staff, as well as Neemias Queta, one of the team’s “two-way contracts”, with whom he played two seasons at Utah State University.

We are thinking a priori of an Exhibit 10 contract for Merrill, with an invitation to the training camp and the possibility of dislodging one of the two “two-way contracts” currently held by Neemias Queta and Keon Ellis. In terms of players under contract, Sacramento already has 14, and the limit is 15.

It may be this last spot that will be in play. Tony Jones of The Athletic all in all talking about a two-year contract, partially guaranteed.
