La superstar NBA des Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, a vu l'un de ses coéquipiers trancher dans le débat du GOAT, qui l'oppose à la légende des Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan

“The GOAT? I choose LeBron, but…”

NBA / Elite Sport TV (DR)

As with every offseason, the GOAT discussion is making a resounding comeback in the discussions of the NBA community. A former fan favorite has positioned herself in this debate in favor of LeBron James… but with a catch!

It was probably not with his 19th season in the league that he managed to get everyone to agree. If he still shone on an individual level with an average of 30.3 points per game, LeBron James failed to carry his Lakers to the playoffs. A certain disappointment for the King, who inevitably sees his file for the GOAT criticized following this failure.

If he says he is no longer fighting to climb the historic rankings, LBJ will still be keen to bounce back collectively in the coming months. The upcoming campaign may represent his last chance to lead a team to the title, and compete Michael Jordan in the famous all-time discussion. Rest assured, some big names are already convinced by his career.

Jason Williams makes LeBron the GOAT… and dubs Jordan

In the last episode of his show, Jason Williams recalled his affection for LeBron by proclaiming him the best player in history:

I choose LeBron. Bro, I will never change my mind. I’m not a stats guy. I mean, I think it’s important, but I’d rather watch you as a player.

According to this prism, Williams therefore maintains his former Heat leader at the top of the food ladder, after having already given him such an honor in the past. However, faced with slight challenges from its interlocutors, the White Chocolate found itself forced to justify this opinion. He then highlighted the versatility of James, more developed than that of Jordan according to him:

I think LeBron is capable of doing more as a basketball player, like handling the ball, passing, all that stuff. But that doesn’t mean Jordan wouldn’t be able to do things that LeBron can do better. I just think LeBron is doing more things better.

The twirling ex-leader could have stopped there, and completed this speech without a false note for LeBron. Unfortunately for the latter, his former partner slipped a flat in his argument, unflattering to him!

I like the way LeBron plays. He’s a collective guy, more so than MJ was. But if I needed a win tonight or a basket right away, I’d take MJ. Simply, as a player, I take LeBron.

If he clearly prefers the panoply of a LeBron James, and grants him GOAT status, Jason Williams nevertheless considers Michael Jordan as a greater winner and killer. Each fanbase will therefore have something to find happiness in these remarks!
