HelloFresh maintains customer growth in Q2 – Business

The number of active customers of the HelloFresh meal delivery service reached 8 million in the 2nd quarter (+4.1% year-on-year), despite “the unusual increase in travel”, rejoices the German company in a statement on Monday.

Its revenue for the second quarter of 2022 amounted to 1.96 billion euros (+16% year-on-year at constant exchange rates). Adjusted EBITDA (profit before interest expense, tax, depreciation and amortization) for Q2 2022 reached €145.9 million, compared to €157.8 million in Q2 2021 .

The average order value also increased in the 2nd quarter (+11% year-on-year).

“We have developed more quick recipes, which can prepare a fresh meal in 15 to 20 minutes. We also work more and more with seasonal products. (…) The delivery of ingredients in exact quantities helps to control expenses”, says Pauwel Wiertsema, CEO of HelloFresh Benelux.
