Moulinsart changes its name and becomes Tintinimaginatio – Companies

The Moulinsart company, which exploits the rights derived from the work of Belgian designer Hergé, creator of the character of Tintin, has been renamed Tintinimaginatio, the company said in a press release.

“We wanted bring back the word Tintin in the name of the activity of exploitation, management, marketing, because it is an iconic name which has the immense advantage of being much more recognized at the international level”, explains the company.

Moreover, this new name translates “the new perspectives ofopenness to the virtual world, the imaginary world, the imagination. We find there both the ideas of image and imagination, which are two of the main foundations of the universe of Hergé”, continues the press release.

Following Hergé’s death on March 3, 1983, an organization was set up to manage the artist’s work, on the initiative of Fanny Vlamynck, the designer’s widow and sole legatee. In December 1986, the company BIL, responsible for the exploitation of copyright and the marketing of derived products, was created. In 1990, BIL changed its name and became Moulinsart. In September 2022, it is therefore the turn of the Moulinsart company to be renamed.

Georges Remi, better known as Hergé, would have celebrated his 115th birthday on May 22.
