Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Bobby Hart has been suspended one game for hitting a Tennessee Titans coach.
The Goodell circuit made the announcement on Tuesday evening.
At the conclusion of the Bills’ 41-7 victory on Monday, Hart attempted to hit a Titans player but missed. His fist, however, ended up on one of the trainers. The NFL chose not to identify the victim.
“As both teams headed into the tunnel, you went straight across the pitch to join your opponent. You approached him near the end zone and an instructor had to hold you back while others shook hands,” NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan wrote in a letter addressed to him. in Hart and obtained by the ESPN network.
“Once you and your rival were in the end zone near the tunnel, you confronted him and immediately sent him your clenched fist, hitting a Tennessee coach in the head. Your aggressive driving could have caused serious injury and clearly does not reflect the high standards of sportsmanship expected of a professional.”
Hart will therefore not be in uniform this Sunday, when the Bills will be in Miami to face the Dolphins.
