Cardinals – Eagles (17-20): Philadelphia still continues to fly

The Eagles have faltered, but retain their invincibility.

Arizona Cardinals (2-3) – Philadelphia Eagles (5-0): 17-20

The last undefeated team of the 2022 NFL season travels to Glendale to face the Cardinals, authors of an average start to the season.

While Philadelphia struggled in the 2nd period after a successful 1st period, Arizona had the opportunity to snatch the extension but Matt Ammendola missed the field goal of equalization.

Before this decisive action, Arizona thought to obtain the first attempt but Kyler Murray slipped too early. Which led them to their 4th attempt and therefore to this field goal missed, allowing Nick Sirianni’s team to retain their invincibility.

We do not change habits (or almost)

As usual, Arizona is in reaction, symbolized by an interception from Kyler Murray (28/42, 250 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) from his second offensive series. Philadelphia is aggressive as usual, offers a varied game and scores on 2 QB sneak by Jalen Hurts (26/36, 239 yards – 15 carries, 61 yards, 2 TD).

Except that Arizona starts its match in the 2nd quarter and scores (finally) a touchdown in the 1st half this season. Touchdown signed Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown (8 REC, 78 yards, 1 TD) who breaks 2 tackles after a pass from Kyler Murray in the center.

Arizona, so near, so far

The defenses take over in the second half. Haason Reddick remembers the good memories of his former club by sacking Kyler Murray. Arizona responds with a sack of Byron Murphy. But, the observation is the same for the 2 teams: it lacks points. The losses of Jason Kelce and Landon Dickerson on the offensive line impact the attack of the Eagles, and in particular Jalen Hurts who no longer finds AJ Brown (3 REC, 32 yards).

Arizona goes through the ground and on a series of 12 games for 90 yards, Eno Benjamin (8 races, 25 yards, 1 TD) scored his first touchdown of the season. Philadelphia then eats the clock for almost 7 minutes. On this series, Jalen Thompson does not pass far from intercepting Jalen Hurts.

This still allows rookie Cameron Dicker to put the field goal which will prove to be that of the win before the failure of Matt Ammendola.
