Charleroi airport will remain closed on Wednesday; five police officers injured – Companies

“Charleroi airport (BSCA) will remain closed on Wednesday,” Philippe Verdonck, CEO of BSCA, told the Belga agency on Tuesday. According to him, the uncertainty is too great as to whether there will be a strike on Wednesday or not and BSCA does not wish to take the risk of an additional day of difficulties for its passengers and its staff.

On Tuesday, the airport was once again the scene of a series of outbursts after the renewal of the strike movement initiated by security agents from the Security Masters company against BSCA Security’s decision to split a security contract (filtering passengers) between two service providers. According to Philippe Verdonck, five police officers present on the spot were injured on Tuesday while trying to manage the flow of passengers. “In a light or more serious way, I have no information on this subject”, adds the CEO. “BSCA is used to providing a quality service. We do not want to run the risk of making our passengers relive the difficulties of the last two days as long as the subcontractor of one of our subcontractors, Security Masters , has not solved the problem he is experiencing with his staff”, affirms Philippe Verdonck again.
