Performance of the week
Miami Dolphins [2-0] @ Baltimore Ravens [1-1] : 42-38
This weekend’s offensive festival took place at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore! In front of their audience, the Ravens had yet done the hardest by leading 28-7 at halftime and then another 35-14 at the start of the last quarter. The moment Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins quarterback caught fire, delivering 4 touchdown passes for a total gain in the game of 469 yards. With a final touchdown from Jaylen Waddle just over 10 seconds from time, Miami offered an unlikely comeback (42-38) to remain undefeated this season.
The surprise of the week
Cincinnati Bengals [0-2] @ Dallas Cowboys [1-1] : 17-20
Finalists in the Super Bowl last February, the Bengals are unable to start their season. Beaten the Steelers last week (20-23), the Bengals this time suffered the thunderbolt of the Dallas Cowboys, who won their first success this season. Like their quarterback Joe Burrow who suffered another 6 sacks from the Cowboys defensive line, Cincinnati’s attack stammers his game. Behind their quarterback Cooper Rush (19/31 for 235 yards gain), Dallas knew snatch victory at the last second on a 50-yard field goal from Brett Maher and plunge Cincinnati into doubt.
Curiosity of the week
Carolina Panthers [0-2] @ New York Giants [2-0] : 16-19
In the slums of the League for several seasons, the New York Giants surprise at the start of the season with a second success in a row (a first since 2016). In a very closed match where the quarterbacks of each team neutralized each other (22/34 and 176 yards for Daniel Jones, 14/29 and 145 yards for Baker Mayfield), the Giants were able to make the difference thanks to Graham Gano, author of a perfect 4 of 4 and a final field goal from 56 yards 7 minutes from time to give victory to New York. Next step for the Giants, the reception of the Cowboys next Monday.
