ORCHARD PARK, NY — Stefon Diggs taunted his opponents before humiliating the Packers defense on the field to lead the Buffalo Bills to a 27-17 win Sunday night against the Green Bay roster, which is off to its worst ever start after eight games of a season with Aaron Rodgers.
Diggs began by garlanding his rivals before and after the pregame warmup, including Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. He then crushed the Packers defense with six catches for 108 yards and a 26-yard touchdown.
The only time Diggs was stopped was late in the first half, when the NFL’s concussion specialist pulled him out of the game after he appeared to have suffered a concussion after a catch from 53 yards. After being assessed, Diggs emerged from the blue medical tent and could be seen telling his teammates that he had bitten his tongue.
The AFC-leading Bills (6-1) never trailed and won their fourth straight game, tying their best start to the season since 1993.
Josh Allen completed 13 of 25 passes, including two touchdowns, for 218 passing yards. However, two of his deliveries were intercepted. He added 49 yards on the run, including a 20-yard gain on third down and 14 yards. That streak set the stage for his one-yard pass to Dawson Knox, who opened the scoring.
Diggs’ middle finger early in the second quarter made it 14-0. The Bills retired for the locker room with a 24-7 priority.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL Most Valuable Player, found takers on 19 of 30 passes for 203 yards. Two of his passes led to touchdowns and one was intercepted.
The Packers, three-time defending NFC North Division champions, improved to 3-5. The four-game losing streak is the second-longest under Rodgers and the team’s worst since 2016. Green Bay hasn’t gone 3-5 since 2006, Brett Favre’s penultimate season.
Aaron Jones rushed for 143 yards as the Packers relied on their ground game.
