Google is one of the most used search engines in the world. It brings together millions of users across the globe every day, and it processes hundreds of millions of requests in a matter of minutes. What everyone does not necessarily know is that the American giant also launched a few years ago a service allowing you to snoop through its index in order to determine the most fashionable trends of a given period. Google Trendsthis is the name of this very practical tool, allows us to have an overview of the searches carried out by other Internet users and, if we are talking about it today, it is not for nothing since Big G just deployed a very comprehensive update and which should make some of you happy.
And it all starts with this new interface much more accessible and much more intuitive. From now on, we will find in a sidebar the list of the different modules offered by the platform. The search field, for its part, is always located at the top of the page, closely followed by a toolbar grouping together various filters (location, date, categories, etc.) and by a zone containing all the terms indicated by the user.
The statistics, they are in the extension of this area. As on the old version, Google Trends will be able to show us the evolution of the interest aroused by our terms on an interactive graph, and we will also find a little further down the geographical distribution of requests as well as related searches. If necessary, we can also display the forecasts calculated by Google, or the averages of our different terms.
Not bad, but it’s not over because we will also find two very practical modules. The first, titled “current searches”, will allow us to have an overview of the most popular requests over the last few days. On Sunday, for example, Chrissy Teigen was in first place in the United States. The second, from my point of view, is much more formidable. baptized “top rankings”, it will actually display the most popular queries… by category. On one and the same page, we will have the most popular actors, the most loved animals, the most admired cars, the most… drunk drinks and even the most played games. Very practical, that’s for sure, especially since Google Trends separates searches from trends. In a few clicks, we can therefore know the most promising requests.
I haven’t talked about it so far but Google Trends also gives pride of place to exportable readers. In a few clicks, it will therefore be possible to integrate graphs, rankings and a whole host of really interesting things on your site.
The high class, in short.
