Nathan Rourke targets the NFL

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke has started the process to get a chance to play in the NFL.

Two days after the BC Lions were eliminated in the Western final, the 24-year-old has indicated who will soon be heading to our southern neighbors for demonstrations in front of clubs in the best football league in the world.

He also added that he does not yet know which teams he will play against the power of his arm.

In his first season as a starter in the Canadian Football League (CFL), Rourke was dominant. Deprived of several games due to a foot injury, he still amassed 3,349 yards and 25 touchdowns in 10 games. He was also the victim of 10 thefts.

The Victoria, BC native also completed 78.7% of his pass attempts, which is a CFL record.

Rourke also indicated that he intended to be back with the Lions in 2023 if he didn’t get a real shot at playing in the NFL.

“I still have a hell of an opportunity here with the Lions. It’s a win-win situation for me. I don’t want to go there [dans la NFL] just to get a vest,” he said Tuesday, during his CFL team’s end-of-season review.
