NFL: A precision kick from Tyler Bass gives the Bills victory, 28 to 25 against the Lions

A perfect execution of the Bills offense at the very end of the 4th quarter allowed Buffalo to win in extremis28-25 over the Detroit Lions on Thursday in the first of three NFL Thanksgiving games.

When we seemed destined to go into overtime, Josh Allen took advantage of a last series on offense and 23 seconds on the clock to set the table for a victorious field goal from Tyler Bass on 45 yards.

Allen joined Stefon Diggs for 37 yards on the first of four plays the Bills fielded to regain the lead with seven seconds left.

Buffalo (8-3) thus signed a second victory in a row since their heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings in the 10th week.

Sean McDermott’s squad temporarily top the American Division East, pending the outcome of the Miami Dolphins game, who face Houton at home on Sunday.

A 51-yard precision kick from Michael Badgley had allowed the Lions (4-7) to believe that they had just forced an extension.

Methodical, Detroit’s offense was able to tie the game 25-25 following a 10-game streak, including a 4th down and a conversion thanks to a run from St. Brown.
