Prediction and Analysis of Giants vs. Commanders

Few predicted that a December meeting between the Giants and Commanders would have playoff implications, but here we are. Even with an Eagles team that sits 10-1 and a Cowboys team five games over .500 threatening them in the NFC East, Washington and New York have both proven they deserve it too. to play football in January.

The Commanders have won six of their last seven games to get here, while the Giants are seemingly starting to slow after a 6-1 start to the season. But those streaks might not necessarily matter on Sunday, when all eyes turn to a game that could make or break one of those teams’ seasons.

Commanders Silver Line

In what is bound to be a close game, the final score may hinge on which team is better equipped to handle the other’s running game.

Washington advantage.

Both teams rank in the league’s top 15 in rushing, but the Commanders allow eighth-fewest rushing yards per game (108.4) while New York gives up seventh (138.9). Washington has allowed less than 95 rushing yards in four of its last six games, and has done so against the Eagles, Vikings, Packers and Texans, all of whom have pretty strong rushing attacks.

Don’t expect Daniel Jones and Taylor Heinicke to get into a shootout on Sunday. Clock management and a strong defense in the middle will be key, giving Commanders a slight advantage.

The Giants will attempt a field goal in their first practice

Although the odds may not be favorable, there are many signs that it is an excellent choice to generate considerable profits.

On average, New York has started practices on its own 32-yard line, and kicker Graham Gano has attempted five of 50-plus field goals this season. With those two things in mind, this bet requires the Giants to gain at least 35 yards on their opening drive – or 42 if they were to start at their own 25 due to a touchdown – to ensure that this bet has a good chance of cashing out.

It’s certainly a doable task for a team that is averaging 29.9 yards on drives this season and considering that 17.6% of New York’s offensive possessions end in a field goal, the choice is all the more attractive.

Obviously, there’s a lot of risk involved here, but throwing a half unit on the Giants to dispatch the kicking unit early could be a good start for Sunday’s action.

Brian Robinson Jr. over 105.5 rushing and receiving yards

Looks like Robinson has officially established himself as the main element of Washington’s attack.

Robinson carried the ball at least 15 times in each of the past three games and set the Falcons on fire with 105 rushing yards on 18 carries.

He is still in a bit of a precarious situation due to the fact that he will likely continue to split races with Antonio Gibson, but Gibson has been restricted to training this week due to a foot injury, potentially opening the door. to the blossoming of Robinson.

With New York giving up at least 60 rushing yards to five different running backs the past three games, Robinson should have no problem attacking the Giants’ front seven.
