After being limited to just three points in the first three quarters of play, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady woke up in the 4th quarter by scoring two touchdowns to earn a 17-16 win over the New Orleans Saints , during Monday Night Football in the NFL.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion delivered a one-yard pass to rookie Cade Otton, ending a 91-yard streak to go 16-10 with exactly three minutes left. Then Brady found rookie Rachaad White for the touchdown with three seconds left, before kicker Ryan Succop converted the convert to give the Bucs a 6-6 lead.
It was Tom Brady’s 44th comeback victory in the 4th quarter or in overtime in his career. He is ahead of Peyton Manning for first place in NFL history in this regard.
Brady completed 36 of 54 pass attempts for 281 yards and two touchdowns.
In the backhand of the Saints (4-9), quarterback Andy Dalton amassed 225 yards through the air and completed a touchdown pass without being the victim of an interception.
However, the Saints paid dearly for having had to settle for three Wil Lutz goals after deep incursions into enemy territory.
With the win, the Bucs won both games of the season against the Saints and solidified their hold on the NFC South’s No. 1 spot.
