In short: Nintendo has already released two trailers for The Super Mario Bros. Movie but it’s clearly not enough to satiate the superfans. King Bob Gaming on YouTube recently remade Nintendo’s second trailer using graphics from the Nintendo 64 era.

The end result is perfect and looks like a cut scene straight out of Super Mario 64.

King Bob originally prepared a partial version of the trailer earlier this month with the promise to do the whole thing if the clip received at least 10,000 likes. As of this writing, this video has 27,000 likes and over 500,000 views.

Super Mario 64 was one of only two Nintendo 64 launch games when it debuted in North America on September 29, 1996. The other was Pilotwings 64, and it would be over a month before it was released. ‘a third title – Wave Race 64 – is joining them on store shelves. Cruis’n USA was intended to be a third launch title but was dropped from the lineup as it failed to live up to Nintendo’s quality standards. The arcade racer finally burst onto the scene on December 3.

Can you imagine a major gaming console launching today with just two playable titles?

Super Mario 64 was the first Mario title with 3D gameplay and was a visual masterpiece for its time. It became the best-selling game on the N64 with over 11.91 million units sold, no doubt due in part to the fact that it came bundled with some systems as part of a bundle.

Last week, Nintendo announced that the first Super Nintendo World theme park attraction in the United States would open at Universal Studios Hollywood on February 17, 2023. That’s just under two months before the premieres of the new film. April 7.
