Black Adam: Dwayne Johnson rejected by James Gunn

Dwayne Johnson opens up about his future as Black Adam after meeting DC Studios co-head James Gunn.

After the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 with Gal Gadot, a Superman reboot with the departure of comedian Henry Cavill, the arrival of a new Batman and the cut cameos of Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill in The Flash, we learn that the Black Adam from Dwayne Johnson was rejected by james gunn.

Dwayne Johnsonwhich has a history of trying to take over franchises – Fast and Furious, Jumanji – was convinced that he could revive the DCEU and become one of its main architects. We owe him in particular the return of Henry Cavill in Superman before the actor is thanked by james gunn.

Finally, Black Adam is not part of the plans of DC Studios for the revival of the DCU. In a social media post, The Rock announces having met james gunn and that after their discussions it was agreed that the character will not return in the first chapter of the new DCU. However, the actor seems confident for the future, he evokes the multiverse, why? How? ‘Or’ What ? nobody knows, Johnson also seems to be eyeing marvel studios.

Endowed with an oversized ego, Dwayne Johnson refused to appear in films Shazam, but also in a cameo in The Flash. Black Adam could have made three appearances in the DCEU.

My fellow enthusiasts, I wanted to give you a long-awaited update from Black Adam regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe.

James Gunn and I have communicated, and Black Adam will not be in the first chapter of their story. However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring more interesting ways to use Black Adam in future chapters of the DC Multiverse. James and I have known each other for years and have always encouraged each other to succeed. It’s no different now, and I’m always going to be cheering on DC (and Marvel) to win and win big.

You know me, I’m very tough – and you can always count on me to be straight in my words.

These decisions made by James and DC executives represent their vision for DCU through their creative lens.

After 15 years of hard work to finally make Black Adam, I’m very proud of the movie we’ve delivered to fans around the world. I will always remember the reaction of fans to Black Adam with great gratitude, humility and love. We’ve been great.

To my passionate and vocal fans of the Black Adam/Super Hero genre – I love you, thank you, will always listen to you, and do my best to please and entertain you.

What a hell of a month – now we all need Teremana!

Have a productive week and happy holidays to you and your families!
