Eagles v. Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni announced Thursday that quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys and that Gardner Minshew will be the starting quarterback.
Hurts suffered a right shoulder injury in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after being tackled by defensive lineman Trevis Gipson.
The American is currently enjoying the best season of his young career with a total of 35 touchdowns (22 passing and 13 rushing). Hurts has 3,472 passing yards and 747 rushing yards and has been intercepted just five times.
Lamar Jackson still out, Tyler Huntley leaving
The Baltimore Ravens will attempt to qualify for the playoffs without star quarterback Lamar Jackson who is still recovering from a knee injury.
Jackson will make way for Tyler Huntley for the third straight week against the Atlanta Falcons.
Huntley’s status for Saturday’s game was still uncertain due to a right shoulder injury which limited him to training during the week.
“It’s a little painful, but it’s manageable,” Huntley said.
The Ravens have lost five of the six games Jackson hasn’t started in the past two years.
The Ravens (9-5) can secure their fourth playoff spot in five seasons at the end of the weekend. Baltimore can qualify with a win over Atlanta and at least two losses from those three AFC East Division teams (the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets). The Ravens can also reach the playoffs if the Jets, Patriots, Browns, Colts, Raiders and Titans all lose.
In three games this season (including two starts), Huntley has completed 70.3% of his passes (52 of 74) for 413 yards, throwing no touchdowns and two interceptions
