A new image from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves shows the film’s party of adventurers facing imminent danger. The new Dungeons & Dragons film is the fourth film adaptation of the tabletop fantasy role-playing game following the rather unsuccessful trilogy released from 2000 to 2012. The new film features a star-studded cast that includes Star Trek’s Chris Pine, The Fast and Michelle Rodriguez from the furious franchise, Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s Justice Smith is Sophia Lillis, Hugh Grant, Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong and Daisy Head.
A new look at the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie was recently revealed as part of Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive 2023 preview. The image from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves shows the film’s main party of adventurers – including Edgin the Bard from Pine, Holga the Barbarian from Rodriguez, Xenk the Paladin from Page, Simon the Sorcerer from Smith and Lillis in the role of Doric the Druid – standing among a pile of bones in the face of unseen danger. What D&D Monsters Will Appear in Honor of Rogues
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which was written and directed by Game Night’s Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, follows this group of unlikely adventurers as they embark on an epic quest to uncover an ancient artifact. Although Hugh Grant plays Forge Fitzwilliam the Rogue, the film’s main antagonist, this group of adventurers will likely encounter various other threats during their quest. Right now, there are a few Dungeons & Dragons monsters confirmed to appear in the upcoming movie.
It’s safe to assume that the titular monsters will appear in the film, three different types of which were revealed in the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer, including the acid-breathing black dragon, the acid-breathing red dragon fire and the white dragon that breathes ice. Early footage also revealed the Mover Beast, a large cat-like creature, as well as the Mimic, a shapeshifter that usually takes the form of a treasure chest to fool unwary players. A more recent Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves behind-the-scenes feature even showed more of the film’s antagonist, Thay’s red magician, and Lillis’ tiefling druid, Doric, transforming into an owl bear.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, which may provide additional clues about monsters that may appear in the film. Judging by the new image, it looks like the party of adventurers will come up against some formidable threats based on the pile of bones below them. Only time will tell what danger awaits as Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits theaters next year on March 31.
