The best NFL prop bets for Eagles vs. Cowboys in Week 16 (Philly kicks Dallas)

After the Eagles tackled the Cowboys’ fullback earlier in the season with Cooper Rush, the favor is in Dallas this week, as Jalen Hurts is out with a shoulder injury when Philadelphia travels in Dallas on Saturday afternoon in week 16.

This game was supposed to be Dallas’ chance to catch up with the Eagles in the NFC East, but they lost in Jacksonville last week and the Eagles are almost certain to win the division in the final three weeks, even without Hurts.

Gardner Minshew II could do his best Nick Foles impersonation and carry the Eagles through to the postseason. The betting markets aren’t Eagles friendly, but I’m not and I think there’s a lot of value in supporting Philadelphia with props.

Here are my three favorite Eagles vs. Cowboys bets this week:

The best NFL prop bets for Eagles vs. Cowboys

1st half Eagles +3.5 (-110) vs. Cowboys
AJ Brown Over 67.5 Receivers (-114)
DeVonta Smith Over 50.5 Receivers (-114)

1st half Eagles +3.5 (-110) vs. Cowboys

The Eagles are the NFL’s best first-half offense and they’re also the biggest bully in the neighborhood. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this team came out and punched Dallas. The Cowboys are also quick and have a top-10 first-half offense, but they haven’t done it against defenses like Philadelphia’s.

Expect Nick Sirianni to get his team ready to claim they’re still the best team in the NFC, with or without their quarterback.

AJ Brown Over 67.5 receiving yards (-114)

The Eagles offense is pretty straightforward, they have two great receivers and they give them the ball all game long.

AJ Brown went for 181 yards last week on nine catches. He had 16 targets in the game. It’s an absurd number and it’s the fifth time he’s seen double-digit targets this year. Even though Hurts isn’t leading the offense, Minshew has learned a thing or two from watching Brown dominate single coverage all year. Especially if we lose the running quarterback element of the offense, those receivers will be even bigger threats.

DeVonta Smith Over 50.5 Receivers (-114)

If Brown is the left hook in this pair, Smith is more of a good right counter punch. You might think he’s just a jab because of his size, but Smith is the perfect blocker.

The Eagles will feed Brown until opposing teams shut them down, but if they do, that’s when they turn to their first-round pick in the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Smith has had over 100 yards in two of the last three games and at least 50 in each of the last five. Once the Cowboys inevitably sell their souls to stop Brown, Smith will pick up where he left off.

The Cowboys’ pass defense has also seen a dizzying drop in the past three games. While they were among the top three passing units all season, they gave up the ninth-most passing yards, 242.3, in December.
