The Road Movie Cabaret company is well known and appreciated by the Tannerie public: for some years they have already presented “The Call of the Forest” (based on the novel by Jack London), “Swing Heil”, and ” Daughters, mothers, rebels, suffragettes”.
A great opportunity for those who missed it
You may have been able to see the latter in mid-April, during its first performances. Otherwise, you have a chance to catch up for the New Year, especially if you haven’t planned anything yet. The play, which traces the fight of three women to obtain the right to vote in England in 1913, will again be given over three evenings. Kick off this Thursday evening, at 8:30 p.m. The continuation Friday at the same time, and a conclusion Saturday at 6:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve obliges, two formulas will be proposed to you. Apart from the show, a plate of tapas (with foie gras!) will be offered if you opt for the formula at €20 full price (reduced price: €14). Otherwise, the full price for the three evenings is €12 (reduced price: €8).
“Daughters, Mothers, Rebels, Suffragettes” proves not only that we owe a lot to these pioneers in the fight for equality, but also that the fight is far from over. Romuald Borys, the director, wanted “to tell the story of individuals who claim the right to exist”. Theatrical, musical, historical, the work seduced the organizers of the Avignon festival. “Swing Heil” was already on the bill last summer, for the fourth consecutive year… Nice success for Road Movie Cabaret, then. Already in April, at the Tannerie, the company was able to boast of three very full evenings, with a full house at the last performance. Perfect to end the year 2022.
