As usual, the canvas did not go out of its way to give its opinion on the new end-of-year film by Kev Adams and Camille Lellouche.
This Wednesday, December 28, the Netflix streaming platform welcomed a new French film to its catalog, Happy We Year, which features the duo Kev Adams and Camille Lellouche. In this feature film by Frank Bellocq (the creator of SODA) the two protagonists meet stuck in an elevator on New Year’s Eve. An incredible situation that was not to the liking of Internet users.

Internet users not fans of Camille Lellouche and Kev Adams
“The feel good movie of this end of the year” announced Kev Adams on his account, revealing the trailer on his social networks. A promise and a pair which did not seduce Internet usersand they wasted no time in letting it be known that they weren’t planning on watching the movie.
“Sartre said ‘Hell is other people’ and when I see the trailer for the latest film by Camille Lellouche and Kev Adams, I understand what he means”, “Imagine you arrive in hell, you have to watch this movie over and over! If there’s a person more detestable than Kev Adams, it’s Camille Lellouche so no thanks” or “Kev Adams and Camille Lellouche merging outdated jokes of 2015 lord” can we read on social networks. That’s done !
Imagine you arrive in hell you have to watch this movie over and over! And no I haven’t seen it I’m not masochistic if there’s a person even more detestable than Kev Adams well it’s Camille Lellouche so no thank you https://t.co/GqyejtfKI9

The film accused of plagiarism
What really bothered me was the film’s lack of originality, which left a feeling of deja vu to the public. It is first of all its title which put the chip in the ear to the Net surfers. Happy We Year is actually reminiscent of an American film released in 2011, titled… Happy New Year.
Similarities that don’t end there, as this scene from Garry Marshall’s film shows. Throughout the film, it is actually Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele who play two strangers stuck in an elevator ! “This scene already exists with Ashton Kutcher and the Glee brunette”or “Today #FrankBellocq gets caught for acute flemmingitis by ‘plagiarizing’ #HappyNewYear” emphasize Internet users.
We can say that the work of #copycomic has paid. Today #FrankBellocq aka Franki Ki, comedian for Groland, Real of Working Girls gets caught for acute flemmingitis while “plagiarizing” #HappyNewYear to @NetflixFR with #HappyWeYear. Tribute or plagiarism: it’s up to you! pic.twitter.com/iQaohtVYTC
