Gran Turismo the movie, a first trailer that emphasizes the spectacular

Before its theatrical release, the film Gran Turismo is revealed in a first trailer. Spectacular images and interventions by the actors follow one another.

The year 2023 will be marked by the theatrical release of the film Gran Turismo. While waiting for this deadline, a first trailer has just been unveiled on the social networks of the iconic series of car racing video games. A minute during which parade spectacular images and some statements from the main actors (Archie Madekwe, Orlando Bloom, or David Harbour).

They say they are “delighted to tell you about our film, Gran Turismo”. A film “made for the cinema”, “based on a true story”, “with action, drama, a love story”. “You will have the feeling of being at the center of the race”, “of experiencing (…) every sensation”.

The trailer also gives pride of place to racing images. Prototypes, GTs or various sports cars among the most iconic and fast are present in this trailer. Let’s mention in particular the fabulous Nissan GTR, which will be at the center of the story.

Gran Turismo, a film based on a true story

Indeed, the feature film will retrace the story of Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe, but hired to film the racing scenes). A British gamer turned professional driver at Nissan. This thanks to the Nissan GT Academy, a competition organized by the Japanese manufacturer, the game Gran Turismo and Sony PlayStation. The latter was intended to detect the best gamers to make them go from virtual to real.

Winner of the Nissan GT Academy in 2011, Jann Mardenborough then competed in major GT championships with Nissan. He also evolved in single-seaters, up to the GP3 Series (current F3 FIA, antechamber of Formula 1) with a victory in 2013. In 2015, he was also part of Nissan’s short adventure at Le Mans in LMP1, the premier category of the ‘era.

It is this story that the film Gran Turismo, whose release is planned in cinemas in this year 2023, will attempt to tell.
