The Black Movie unveils the program for its 24th edition

Where Is This Street? or With No Before or After by João Pedro Rodrigues and João Rui Guerra da Mata

The new edition of the Black Movie International Independent Film Festival, which will take place in Geneva from January 20 to 29, will offer a faithful audience a series of exciting productions from more than 50 countries. A scintillating explosion of 91 independent films made up of 51 feature films and 40 short films, including 54 Swiss premieres. As pointed out by Maria Watzlawickartistic director of the festival: “The directors have understood this well, these madmen and madmen of kings. Daring to depend without filters or well-meaning on the world as their sensitivity as artists perceives it, the filmmakers give us to see many facets of this beautiful and disturbing kaleidoscope that is our planet”.

The Black Movie proposes, as every year, to divide this exciting selection into thematic sections: To be continued… (a best of independent filmmakers adored by the festival), Vivre! (which tells about youth in an ever more complex and scary world), Unleashed (an ode against patriarchy), Ofnis (which offers eight works that cross and shatter the concept of genre), Memento Mori (a reflection on the relationship to death), Pegan East (which stages folk films from Central Europe and l’Est), Spasmes (which invites you to three nocturnal encounters) and Petit Black Movie.

Festival-goers will find familiar names such as, to name only the Europeans, the Portuguese Joao Pedro Rodrigues and João Rui Guerra da Mata (which, in addition to a highly anticipated masterclass on January 23, will present two films, Where Is This Street? or With No Before or After [+lire aussi :
